The VCE to Cortina drive is approximately 148 km and normally takes about 2 hours.
The route follows the A27 towards Belluno, then continues on the SS51 through Cadore and along the Boite valley to Cortina d'Ampezzo.
On clear roads, the journey can sometimes take a little less than two hours, but around two hours is the realistic time to plan for.
The most common slowdowns are around Longarone, after the end of the A27, and through San Vito di Cadore on the final approach to Cortina. Traffic through San Vito can be slower in the morning.
Winter weather and road conditions can add time, and Saturday mornings during ski season can also be busier.
There are three main Venice Airport to Cortina transport options, and the best way to get from Venice Airport to Cortina depends on your budget, luggage and plans during your stay.
Scheduled public transport is generally the more economical option and works well when the timetable fits your arrival. You travel according to a fixed schedule and handle your luggage yourself.
