For example, pizza has achieved a cult status in many European countries, North and South America, and in Russia. In Italy itself, food is more than just a nourishment, like in other countries. Moreover, regular food festivals are held here. Each person who considers himself a gourmand should visit one of these events at least once in his life. A big help in attending all festivals will be a taxi in Italy.

In general, Italy produces more than 500 kinds of cheese. Their types are so versatile that one might need more than a week to try them all! Almost each Italian province produces its own kind of cheese. It’s possible to try them at Cheese Festival that is held here annually between September 13-16. Each manufacturer tries to attract more attention to his product. That’s quite easy to explain: for them, such a festival is a great promotion company! However, all types of cheese are for free during these days. Children will find something to do here too. Apart from cheese, there are other dairy products displayed here, like yogurts, milkshakes and ice-cream.
White Truffle Festival
Truffle is the most expensive mushroom in the world. Its cost might reach up to several thousands dollars per kilogram. It was here in Italy, where the largest truffle in human history has been found. Its weight was 2,5 kilograms (4,41 lb). Perhaps, this event became a reason of holding the White Truffle Festival. At the Festival one can learn the methods of searching this kind of mushroom and the best ways to cook and to serve it. Also, there’s a possibility to participate in an action and buy a kilo of two of the most healthy mushrooms. Festival is held during weekends and lasts the whole November.
Chocolate Festival
Perhaps, there’s no person on this planet, who doesn’t like chocolate. The main chocolate production in Italy is located in the town named Perugia. That’s why it became a leader when choosing the place for the festival. Each year between October 17-26 the whole town turns into a true capital of sweets. Apart from chocolate itself, different cosmetic products made from chocolate are displayed here. That’s why even those who try to limit chocolate consumption might come here in search for delicious face and body creams.
These events are open for everyone. Moreover, tourists can save money on food here, because each festival gives an opportunity to try different dishes and discover new tastes.
