Unity of Italy Square

When it’s getting dark, the square becomes even more magical. The illuminations of the road are being switched on. The blue lights show the visitors the places, where the sea was washing the shores before.
The square is surrounded by 7 luxurious palaces, which tower over it like the guards.
Grand Canal
The idea to built Grand Canal belonged to the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa. The main purpose of the construction was to help the merchants. The Canal connected the port with the city center and the stores of merchants.
Nowadays, the Canal is just a memory of the previous times. It was used to transport goods, and three bridges were crossing it. A small part of it is left in the present times. Nevertheless, each tourist can take a tour along the Canal in a boat and get an opportunity to see a new side of the city.
Roman Theater

How to reach Trieste
The closest airport to Trieste is Trieste – Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport. The distance from this hub to the city center is 40 kilometers (25 miles). It's possible to reach Trieste by bus or by taxi. The closest train station is situated 1 kilometer (0,62 mile) away from the airport. Of course, one can walk to the station and then take a train to reach the city. However, it will be way more convenient to book a transfer in Trieste. The chauffeur will meet you at the airport with a pickup sign, and you will reach your hotel (or any other address) in Trieste with comfort.
