Keep in mind, though, that by taking the land taxi, you will arrive to Piazzale Roma (that's the terminus of each transportation). After that, you will have to take a motorboat to reach the center part of the city.

A tourist guide will meet you at the airport or train station with a pickup sign. He will take you to your boat and can help to find the hotel entrance, if there's no access from water. And the most important thing is that your guide will speak English (as the opposite of most of local drivers who speak Italian only).

Apart from a private water taxi, it's possible to share the ride. The cost of the trip will be a bit cheaper, yet, you will have to wait for the departure (until the vehicle is full). In this case, the price you pay per person will equal 15-22 euro. A private taxi if you're traveling alone will cost you 65 euro. However, you can significantly reduce its price. When traveling in a company of 7-8 people, each will be paying only 11 euro.

Another option is to book a ride with an assistant. In this case, the price will be increased,  and you'll pay 30 euro more for a water taxi. But the trip will be more relaxed and convenient for you. A tour guide might be your assistant as well. He will take you to the hotel and make a little tour on the way to it. Thus, a simple trip to accommodation will be turned into a wonderful journey across the Floating City.
