Ortisei

Ortisei is a village located in Val Gardena, a large resort area between two skiing zones: SECEDA & COL RAISER and ALPE DI SIUSI. Reaching Ortisei is convenient: book transfer in Italy from Val Gardena or directly transfer to Ortisei from the airport. For people with low budget and huge patience, there's a network of regular buses. However, during peak season tourists will have to travel tightly packed in the vehicle, because the amount of visitors seems to be endless.

SECEDA & COL RAISER

SECEDA & COL RAISER skiing zone is perfect for experienced skiers. Slopes are wide and steep here, and rarely deserted. Tourists who came here mostly appreciate the local landscape. And it's truly magnificent here: Sassolungo, the main summit of Val Gardena, and the neighboring peaks surround skiing area from each side.

Lovers of calm skiing can try their skills on 6 miles (10 kilometers) La Longia trail. It connects Ortisei ski resort with SECEDA & COL RAISER area. Use cable car No.3 or ski lift No.2 to reach the skiing zone from Ortisei. If traveling from Santa Cristina, use gondola lift Col Raiser or ski lifts No.14 to reach SECEDA. These are the most popular ways to navigate in the region, because the changes of altitude much reach 4,265 feet (1,300 meters).

ALPE DE SUISI

This region is a great option for beginners and skiers with low level. A huge amount of trails and slopes for training and coaches ready to teach you can also be found here. Despite the relatively small change of altitudes (330-660 feet or 100-200 meters), cabin lifts are also used here.

How to reach Ortisei

Special express buses depart from Bergamo, Verona and Innsbruck airports.

From Bergamo:

Monday, Thursday, Friday - 2 times per day;
Sunday - 3 times per day;
Saturday - 4 times per day.

From Innsbruck:

Friday - 2 times per day;
Saturday and Sunday - 3 times per day.

From Verona:

Monday, Thursday, Friday - 2 times per day;
Saturday and Sunday - 3 times per day.

It's also possible to reach Ortisei by train when traveling from Germany, Austria or the Netherlands. In this case, you need to exit at Bolzano or Bressanone stations and take bus or taxi Italy to reach Ortisei. Keep in mind one distinctive feature of train fares in Italy: all children, regardless of their age, should also have a valid ticket. Thus, a large company of friends or big family would feel better if booking a personal transfer in Italy.

Food in Ortisei

Apart from being a part of Sella Ronda ski circuit and a huge ski resort, Ortisei can offer its guests way more activities. For example, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants here to fit everyone. Due to such diversity, tourists coming to Italy can try and enjoy local cuisine. Two most popular dishes in Ortisei are traditionally pasta and pizza.
